The Final Countdown (Costa Rica)
I would imagine that after studying abroad for a year you would be sick of traveling right?
WRONG!
Traveling is still just as exciting as it was when I first got here in Costa Rica.
Love is still in the air; every day I fall more and more in love with the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
The people continue to amaze me with their brilliantly colored hair and unique clothing styles.
Classes at Veritas University inspire me to pursue art every day.
Best of all, the sites and eco-tourism destinations never fail to delight.
After 12 weeks studying abroad at Veritas University, we are counting down.
We have learned how to recycle in Spanish. How to order food at a local soda. Go grocery shopping for the necessities for the week, and save money on lunch. Create a budget for when we travel outside of San Jose for the weekends. What not to wear in downtown San Jose, and how to walk with purpose.
We have studied how ecosystems work, therapy for the human body, philosophy, the Spanish language, how to interact and communicate with those of another culture, natural remedies, photography and the histories of peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We hope to continue pursuing a relationship with people of different cultures than ours back in the States, to travel more, find an environment in which we can practice our Spanish, re-acquaint ourselves with life in North America, and take risks and be adventurous.
Final Countdown
