12 Hours of Laughs: A Comedy TV Binge

By Julia Bianco on January 8, 2015

Ahh, winter break. The time for college students to lock themselves away and catch up on all of the vegging that they missed out on during the busy semester. It’s a beautiful month, one that brings new adventures and discoveries, like how many slices of pizza you can eat in one sitting or how long you can go without getting out of bed. But, sadly, for many of us, winter break is coming to a close. In order to help you make the most of your last few days of freedom, I have put together the ultimate entertainment binge— a solid, completely filled 12 straight hours of comedy for you to watch. Inspired by EW’s 2014 24 hour Emmy binge, this 12-hour schedule will give you a jam-packed day of entertainment.

I’ve included three snack breaks, a lunch break and a dinner break— no bathroom breaks, this is all about food and comedy. I’ve also written where each episode is available to watch online, because DVD’s are for losers.

So are you ready to take on the challenge? Let’s get started.

9:00 A.M.: Friends, “The One with the Embryos” (Netflix)

You’re going to have to get started bright and early if you want to finish this thing, so I say we start this off strong with a few classics.

9:22 A.M.: Everybody Loves Raymond, “She’s the One” (Amazon Prime Instant Video)

9:45 A.M.: Monty Python’s Flying Circus, “Ministry of Silly Walks”

9:49 A.M.: Saturday Night Live, “Celebrity Jeopardy”

9:57 A.M.: Snack break!

For an early morning snack, I recommend something healthy, like fruit. Or maybe just fruit gummies.

10:00 A.M.: The Office, “Diversity Day” (Netflix)

Everyone else is at work right now, but you, you’re here, in bed, watching television like the true American hero you are. So why don’t we spend the next hour watching shows about people working so you can at least act like you did something productive?

10:23 A.M.: 30 Rock, “Sandwich Day” (Netflix)

10:45 A.M.: Parks and Recreation, “The Fight” (Netflix)

11:06 A.M.: Community, “Paradigms of Human Memory” (Amazon Instant)

It’s Community hour. We’re going to go with two of the series goofiest installments, starting with the absolutely bizarre clip show.

11:28 A.M.: Community, “Pillows and Blankets” (Amazon Instant)

This episode is basically a documentary, so, congratulations, you’re learning stuff!

11:50 A.M.: Lunch break!

You might want to fill up here, the next snack break isn’t for a whole two hours.

12:00 P.M.: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, “The Nightman Cometh” (Netflix)

Since you’ve just eaten, lets move on to something that will make your stomach turn with our next three highly inappropriate comedies.

12:22 P.M.: South Park, “Make Love, Not War Craft”

12:44 P.M.: Reno 911!, “And the Installation is Free”

1:08 P.M.: Psych, “Black and Tan” (Netflix)

Time to get quirky, starting with the hilarious antics of Shawn and Gus in the fashion world.

1:50 P.M.: New Girl, “Background Check” (Fox)

I’m sure you’re probably wanting some aquarium rock meth to help you stay awake right now.

2:12 P.M.: Snack break!

I recommend chips— the salt should keep you satisfied until dinner.

2:20 P.M.: John Mulaney, “Wonderful Girlfriend”

Time for a clip show, starting with Mulaney’s hilarious stand-up routine.

2:23 P.M.: Inside Amy Schumer, “Animal Rescue Hotline”

2:25 P.M.: “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”

It’s painfully adorable.

2:29 P.M.: Pixar Animated Short, “Boundin’”

2:34 P.M.: Key and Peele, “Gay Wedding Advice”

Do you even know what couscous is?

2:39 P.M.: The Colbert Report, “Get Lucky”

Time for a musical interlude. You’re going to have to actually click on the link for this one, though, sorry.

2:44 P.M.: Saturday Night Live, “Lazy Sunday”

2:47 P.M.: Saturday Night Live, “Dick in a Box”

2:50 P.M.: Saturday Night Live, “More Cowbell”

2:53 P.M.: Inside Amy Schumer, “One Night Stand”

3:00 P.M.: Bo Burnham, “Words, Words, Words” (Comedy Central)

How about some stand-up? Burnham isn’t quite your typical stand-up comedian, but he is hilarious.

4:00 P.M.: Scrubs, “My Half Acre” (Netflix)

I’d say no scrubs here, but really it’s all Scrubs here. At least for the next hour.

4:24 P.M.: Scrubs, “My Musical” (Netflix)

4:48 P.M.: Scrubs, “My Way Home” (Netflix)

5:12 P.M.: Enlisted, “Prank War” (Fox)

Let’s move onto some comedies about family (I’m sure yours is coming home right about now, but feel free to ignore them), starting with Fox’s cancelled-too-soon military comedy.

5:36 P.M.: Black-ish, “Colored Commentary” (Hulu)

5:58 P.M.: Raising Hope, “Don’t Vote for This Episode” (Netflix)

6:20 P.M.: Modern Family, “Las Vegas” (ABC)

6:44 P.M.: Dinner break!

Get something satisfying, but don’t fill up too much. There’s an ice cream break coming later…

7:00 P.M.: Spongebob Squarepants, “Chocolate with Nuts/Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy V” (Netflix)

Photo: C:Kaeyt~R on Flickr

How about some nice after dinner cartoons to help you relax and digest?

7:22 P.M.: Family Guy, “Road to the Multiverse” (Netflix)

7:44 P.M.: Bob’s Burgers, “Dawn of the Peck” (Netflix)

8:08 P.M.: Ice cream break!

What’s your favorite flavor? Mine is Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food, which is hands down the best ice cream flavor ever invented. But I’m sure yours is cool too.

8:16 P.M.: Nathan for You, “Dumb Starbucks” (Comedy Central)

For the last hour, we’re going to get a little weird, starting with Comedy Central’s wonderful show about businesses in trouble.

8:38 P.M.: Arrested Development, “Pier Pressure” (Netflix)

Photo: Christopher Verdery on Flickr

And ending with one of the strangest, cleverest, and straight up entertaining comedies ever made.

9:00 P.M.: Done!

You are the most talented, most interesting and most extraordinary person in the universe. Go forth, proud son, and tell the world of your achievements. You deserve this.
