1. Florals, Florals, Florals: Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. If you recognized where that quote is from you get 100 bonus points! In all seriousness, while it may be an obvious choice, adding a bunch of floral decorations to your place can give it that feeling of being fresh and preparing for Easter! One of the cheapest and coolest ways to execute this is to buy fake flowers!

If you go to a craft store, there is a chance they can be more expensive, so shop at your dollar tree instead! You can pick from a variety of floral styles and colors, all for a dollar a piece! Additionally, you can pick up vases there as well to complete your decor. The best part about all of this? You can reuse the same flowers next season!

2. Pastels: Pastels usually conjure up some controversial opinions among people, you either love them or you hate them. I personally love pastels and think that there is a beauty in the soft yet bright colors! Incorporating pastels into your decor isn’t difficult and doesn’t have to cost you a ton of money, either! Consider getting a couple of pastel decorative pillows for your furniture, or a pastel doormat to place in front of your dorm/apartment. Items like these can be found at places like Walmart or Target.

In a post by Decor4All.com, they write, “Blending beautiful light blue colors, mint green color tones, citrus yellow colors, romantic pink and purple shades into gorgeous decor changes the way your rooms look with charming and pretty spring decorating ideas.”

3. Easter Decor Pieces: Who said that you couldn’t have fun with Easter decorations? With some basic Easter-type items, such as candy and colored eggs, you can make cute statement pieces to place throughout your dorm/apartment! For example, the dollar store usually has clear vases or jars; consider getting some easter “grass” in a fun color like pink, blue or purple, filling the glass with some grass and then putting candy or colored eggs on top!

Victoria Araj of Quicken Loans suggests to, “Add stems of flowers to antique tin cans, bunches of tulips to a pair of rain boots, or a mix of faux flowers and painted eggs to a wicker basket. Then place these containers in typical places like tabletops, windowsills or bookshelves.”

4. Small Details: Sometimes the key to decorating a space and creating a theme isn’t so much about the grandiose pieces, but more about the small details. Giving your place that Easter feel doesn’t have to include large items or anything super special. Highlighting small details like changing a tablecloth to a spring patterned one, hanging a floral wreath on your door, putting nostalgic Easter pictures out, etc. can contribute to a great overall ambiance and make your dorm/apartment feel extra homey. For additional fun and nostalgia, get some spring and easter decorative window clings to put on windows throughout your place! It will bring you right back to when grandma decorated her home for the holidays.

Some people think that decorating a space takes a lot of effort and a significant amount of money, but that isn’t the case! For the Easter holiday, remember these simple tips and tricks to save money and make your place somewhere both festive for Easter and fresh for the springtime. Whether its incorporating florals or pastels, or putting your own spin on decorating for Easter, remind yourself to have fun with it! Ultimately it’s your space, so decorate it and design it as you picture it. As always, good luck!
