I'm getting a lot of invitations to graduate school interviews. I'm nervous and I want to take my mom with me, but is that silly?

It isn't a wise idea to have your mom tag along with you into the interview. Of course, she can sit in the car or drop you off and pick you up or even stay at the hotel or in the waiting area. Many parents do. But the idea is that you will have to go to graduate school yourself so this is good practice in standing on your own as you'll have to do that many times throughout your life.
I am in the same situation. I think it's okay to have your mom tag along -- but I wouldn't bring her with you to any of the socials/events and definitely not the interview. Having her stay in the hotel room or find things to do on her own will give you security that she's with you, but she won't be velcro-ed to your side. Plus -- maybe she'll pay for your hotel!
